As a Lead Software Engineer, you will lead or be a member of the cross functional team responsible for developing and testing Avionics Displays and Surveillance Systems, Products and Services that makes a real difference in safety and cost effective operation of commercial aerospace.
You will design and develop software aspects of the solution and take it all the way from conception through certification and deployment of the solution in field.
You will interact with internal and external customers, regulatory authorities and support Project and Program leadership on the execution.

Essential Functions:
Acts as technical lead for a team of software engineers and take software technical owndership of new development programs and/or incremental updates or sustain the current productlineLeads the software team through development reviews and certification milestones such as SRR, PDR, CDR, SOIs etc.
Collaborates with Systema and HW functional leads to support full product lifecycleInterfaces with project leadership on all aspects of software lifecycle and represent organization in customer meetings and reviews.
Performs software engineering tasks for CAS Avionics development projects in a dynamic environment.
Tasks include working with a team of engineers developing and implementing software requirements, coding, and detailed design documentation.
The role will encompass development perspectives of software requirements test cases, verification procedures, software branch coverage analysis, code debug, pre and post-integration test, internal and external problem report investigation, analysis, and resolution.
Additional tasks will include generation of DO-178 documents, maintenance of in-house software tools and contributing to process improvement activities.
Qualifications:
Requires comprehensive level knowledge of job area.
May have in-depth knowledge of project management.
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
9 years of experience developing real time embedded software.
Technical software team leadershipPrevious experience with DO-178 development is highly desired.
Experience leading software SOIs and other design review audits with internal and external certification authoritiesExperience developing with C programming language a plus.
Knowledge of engineering design standards for commercial aviation industry a plus.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Related development experience with the following is a plus:
Experience with Displays and Surveillance products such as Transponder, TCAS and/or TAWSExperience with Real Time Operating Systems such as Green Hills, VxWorks or CentOS.
Experience with C++, Python, Visual Basic, PascalLinuxExperience with Configuration Management and Change Control Tools (such as Git, Bitbucket, ClearCase, ClearQuest)Experience with Requirement Management tools such as DOORSFamiliarity with next generation requirements and change management tool such as JAMAExperience with Agile software development lifecycleExperience with DevOps concepts and implementations, especially with Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing aspectsExperience with JenkinsGood written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
